Blue Trout Ā£375,000

The classic sailing yacht Blue Trout is back on the market, refitted by Downs Road Boatyard and listed for sale by Zeewarriors.

Built in teak on oak sawn and steamed frames designed by Norman Dallimore and built by British yard William King & Sons at Burnham on Crouch in 1937 has a varied and interesting history. Her keel was initially laid in 1937. Town Cup winner in 1938 with Normand Edward Dallimore at the helm, between 1947 and 1965 she had a number of owners and was cruising in the Mediterranean. Blue Trout was originally a single masted cutter with a bowsprit, but in 1965 she was bought by Captain Michel Fuega who converted her to a ketch.
One of the truly unique things about Blue Trout is the 2 inch genuine Burmese teak planking on her hull and decks laid over 3 inch English oak frames. Burmese teak is now unavailable and irreplaceable, making this boat a true jewel. The hull is sheathed in copper. She was one of the most comfortable and luxurious cruising yachts of her day, and at the time of her launch the largest yacht built at Burnham on Crouch.
The most recent refits were in Gillingham Marina in 2015 - hull paintworks, new engine, standing rigging refit , varnishing and in 2020 in Downs Road Boatyard - hull and deck works a standing rigging refit, varnishing.
Blue Trout has 8 berths: 2 (bunks) in the bows, 2 in mid cabin (bunks) and 4 in the Captainā€™s cabin. 2 further beds available in the saloon and another in the deckhouse. 2 showers & wcā€™s.
