Flamant Rose - withdrawn
Flamant Rose or Pink Flamingo in English is entirely unique and has the most fabulous love story to tell. This boat was used by Edith Piaf to rendezvous with her lover the French Algerian Boxer Marcel Cerdan. Moored in Paris on the Seine it would also be moved along the French Waterways so they could meet while Edith was on tour. The boat was given the name ‘Love Boat’ and was described by the owner as Edith’s “the boat when it was her happy time”. Sadly their affair did not last, while journeying to meet her in New York in 1949 he was tragically killed in a plane crash.
The owners are multiple best selling authors and a celebrity hypnotist. They bought the boat as a gift after they were married, carrying on the tradition of the love boat from owner to owner.
They have entertained many interesting people on this boat, hosting parties and enjoying passaging from Greenwich in Central London to Henley on Thames for the Henley Royal Regatta, those invited ranged from Bollywood stars to wing commanders, politicians and celebrities.
A large wheelhouse saloon with brass topped bar invites you to entertain while you overlook the picturesque setting at St Katharine’s Docks. Leather upholstered seating areas, brass panelled walls with large porthole windows make this upper deck space light filled and accommodating.
Wooden doors open the saloon to the front deck and larger back deck spaces also ideal for hosting with a large shade for the back deck dining space.
The master cabin suite is located to the front of the boat and has a luxurious decor and with a glamorous palette of metallic brass details, silks and satins, brass hardware, deep pile carpet, and cream leatherette lined walls and ceiling. The bed cover, was brought over from Puerto Banús, by the owners which belonged to the Arab Kings.
