The Seaward 25 motor cruiser is an extended version of the well proven Seaward 23.

Apart from including all the desirable features found in the Seaward 23. The increased length of the 25 has enabled sufficient space for a fully enclosed wheelhouse and a separate self draining cockpit. 

Other additional features include extra stowage space for more extensive cruising. The Seaward 25 is designed for use offshore and cross Channel and has undergone stability testing by Lloyd's Register for compliance with the new Recreational Craft Directive Category B for use in wind speeds up to force 8 and wave heights up to 4 meters.

Twin Yanmar inboard shaft drive diesels with contra-rotating propellers are standard.

Round bilge semi-displacement type with well raked stem and flared topsides forward. There is a tumblehome on the aft hull sections with a forward sloping transom. A three quarter length keel extends 18 inches deep from the hull at the aft end. A teak spray rail is fitted on each side with well rounded sections. The hull and all G.R.P. moldings are hand laid in our modern Lloyds approved factory. Standard color Blue.

One piece G.R.P. molding with substantial gunwales and wide non-slip decks incorporating a beveled toe rail for additional safety. A 32 rubber D fender is fitted all round and a plywood insert fitted between the deck flange and the hull prior to bonding, giving additional impact strength.

A galley unit fitted to starboard and includes a small stainless steel sink with cold water supply and a stainless steel twin burner hob and grill. A useful worktop is created by hinge up flaps over the hob and sink. The cabin includes two V berths 6' 2"in length. Additional berth space for a small adult or child is available by removing the pedestal from the central table and fitting the table in the lower position. The craft is finished with teak veneered bulkheads and teak trim. Side and overhead linings in the wheelhouse and cabin are of foam backed vinyl. The shelf in the cabin is carpeted as are the hull sides above the V berths Foam cushions are provided for the V berths and the cabin table to form a double berth when in the lowered position. The cabin and wheelhouse soles are carpeted and covers are supplied for the portlights.

The forward section of this shelf is fitted with a bulkhead forming the chain locker which is fitted with a watertight hatch. To port is a toilet compartment containing a marine WC. and hand basin with cold water supply. Ventilation is by two vents fitted on the coach roof and a deck hatch.

 

The wheelhouse is fully enclosed by a bulkhead (with opening windows) fitted at the rear. Entrance to the wheelhouse is from the cockpit via a stable door arrangement and the helm position is on the port side.

The steering engine controls and main instruments are all mounted in a G.R.P. console molding. A chart table/stowage locker is fitted to the starboard with a hanging locker beneath. Padded bucket seats are fitted each side for the helmsman and navigator. These seats are fitted with adjustable sliders and turntables and are mounted on pedestals. 

Teak Stowage lockers can be fitted instead of pedestals at extra cost. Hatches are fitted in the sole which provide access to the bilge and more storage space.

The cockpit is fully self draining overboard by way of drain tubes through the transom fitted with flaps. The sole which has a built in camber slopes slightly downwards at the aft end to ensure full drainage. 

Hinged type engine boxes are fitted aft of the wheelhouse bulkhead with deep coamings to prevent the ingress of water. The full width cushioned seat fitted at the aft end. The seat cushions can be utilized to form two single berths at extra cost by way of infill sections and additional cushions which join up with the engine boxes. 

The surrounding area is fitted out with a smooth glass fiber molding with teak rim and a useful locker to port and another under the aft seat

The gas locker is fitted to starboard with a drain overboard.. The cabin table can be easily transferred and set up in the cockpit area, a useful feature when entertaining. 

The sole area is finished in Blakes non-slip deck paint. Standard fittings include, heavy duty bow roller, stainless steel pulpit, three stainless steel mooring bollards, hand rails on wheelhouse and coachroof, chain pipe, two thirleads forward, mast, four fender eyes each side and set of anchor chocks. Grab handles are also fitted on the aft wheelhouse cappings, to assist access from the cockpit to the side decks. A stern ladder to enable boarding from the water or a dinghy.

The craft is supplied twin Yanmar inboard diesel engines and conventional shaft drives with twin cudders to provide the best possible handling characteristics. Twin fuel tanks of approximately 32 gallons each are standard. The steering system is hydraulic. An emergency tiller is also provided as standard Morse single lever typecontrols are installed to operate the throttle and gearshith

Two 90 amp hour batteries with isolating selector switches are fitted as standard, the system allows the option of running off either one or both batteries at any one time. The power circuits are protected by circuit breakers mounted in the instrument console.

Standard electrical equipment includes, two pantograph wipers, horn, lights, anchor light, cockpit light, six interior lights and electric bilge pump with float switch.
